Welcome to Donnington

We hope you will love living in the parish of Donnington. The name refers to the original village which is a mile east on the Selsey Road, and that’s where St George’s parish church nestles behind trees. Most people however live in Stockbridge which has itself expanded in recent years. The uniqueness of the parish lies in the combined rural and urban nature and a ‘village’ feel.

It’s a uniqueness we want to maintain as we look out for each other whether newcomers or long established. We felt it strongly during lockdown and preserving the uniqueness came to then fore as we saw off a planned bypass that would run through the parish.

The best way to find out about us and things like schools is to come and meet ‘villagers’ - we are a friendly bunch! The Saturday Morning Hub at the Hall between 10 and 12 is a great place to meet us as well as our regular `Sunday services.

We have recently been in interregnum but are now blessed with the recent arrival (January 2024) by the Reverend Caroline Brown who will shortly be 'installed'. The profile we drew up as we searched for our new priest is attached and page 2 gives a summary of our Parish.
