St Faith & St Laurence Harborne
(Page updated 25th July 2021)
Following the relaxation of lockdown measures on 19th July, the Parochial Church Council has decided to lift some of the measures that have been in place since we re-opened.
We have reduced social distancing and removed the limit on numbers attending for worship. A designated space will be available for those who still wish to continue to keep a distance, however.
Although face coverings are no longer mandatory, it is an expression of Christian love that we continue to seek to keep people safe, so we are asking that people continue to wear face coverings on the same basis as before. This will keep one another safe and enable the lessening of social distancing. Hand sanitising on entry and exit will also remain in place.
We would request people to still use the seat booking line as this will help us meet our Track and Trace obligations.
Other relaxations, such as the resumption of singing, will hopefully follow over the coming weeks.
We are open for worship each Sunday. Our Service pattern is now:
8am Communion 2nd and 4th Sundays
10am Communion 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays
10am Morning Worship 2nd and 4th Sundays
4pm Zoom evening worship every week
6.30pm Evensong 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays
Please do also look at the Resources for worship pages for other videos, services and prayers - all ways to hold ourselves and the world before God.
We are also active with Messy Church for families, coffee mornings, bible study courses and the like, all taking place online. Details in the "Services and events" section of the website.
Contact the Vicar Rev'd Canon Priscilla White or 07896 935798 if you want to join us on Zoom or WhatsApp, need to talk, want prayer over the phone, or for any other reason.
We are a friendly church set in the suburbs of Birmingham. We have a range of services set mostly within the middle tradition of the Church of England. We welcome everyone to share in our worship. Please make yourself known to one of the Ministry Team so we can get to know you better.
The parish of Harborne: St Faith & St Laurence is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Birmingham’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
For further information on safeguarding please see our Safeguarding page.
