Church of England Diocese of Birmingham St. Faith and St. Laurence, Harborne

Re-opening for Public Worship

We are delighted to announce that we will have now re-opened for public worship. The new regulations on social gatherings and the Birmingham local lockdown rules do not apply to places of worship at the moment so we will continue with public worship and private prayer.

Please keep an eye on this page as information will be updated here.

Things will be very different due to the need to keep everything as COVID secure as possible. You will need to book a seat (or seats). You will be asked for contact details for Test and Trace. Hand sanitising on entry to the church and face-covering will be required (unless you are medically exempt).  You will need to sit where directed in order to enable social distancing. There will not be congregational singing but there will be some live music. Please do not attend if you have any COVID 19 symptoms.

Despite the restrictions and procedures, we very much hope that this will be an opportunity to meet with God and to worship together as we do so.

Private Prayer

To allow time sufficient time between openings, the church is no longer open for Private Prayer on Saturdays but will continue to be open on Wednesday between 1 and 3pm.

What will the worship be?

There will be a service in Church at 10am on each Sunday, alternating between Service of the Word (not Communion) and Communion.

How do I book a seat?

Seats will need to be booked via the new booking system. Please contact the bookings number 07942 221573 by text (the preferred option) or leave a message between 9am Monday and 12 noon Friday in the week before the service you wish to attend. Please provide your full name and phone number and the number of seats required. You can expect that if you do not hear anything, you have a space.

What if I don't want to come physically to church?

We will continue to offer other types of worship for those who are not ready for face to face worship in Church.

From 13th September, we will be aiming to livestream the 10am service on our Facebook page.

There will be an afternoon Zoom service at 4pm. See the Services and Events for further details.

Video worship on the website will continue to be posted for Sundays.

The order of service is also emailed out to people on a Saturday. Email if you would like to be added to the list.

Hard copies of more generic services are posted every couple of months to those who cannot access the internet.

What procedures are in place for our safety?

Procedures have been put in place, following government and church guidance, for all our safety.

Please find a document with fuller details.
