Said Mass during Holy Week, which will be followed by Compline

Compline will be said at 19:45, following Mass. Compline will be said before the Blessed Sacrament and on Holy Wednesday there will be Benediction.

We gather to celebrate the gift of Holy Communion as we remember Jesus gathering in the upper room with his disciples the night before he died. After Mass, those who wish are invited to wait and watch and pray in the church to remember Jesus' agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, and the moment of his arrest.

n Good Friday (3rd April 2026), between 09:00 and 11:00, we will be hosting a morning of children’s activities as we remember Jesus’ death on the cross and look ahead to the joy and hope of the Resurrection on Easter Day.

The morning will include arts and crafts, where children can make an Easter Garden while hearing the story behind it. There will also be tea, coffee, and hot cross buns available for both children and adults.

Join us as we remember the final moments of Jesus' life. We will hear the Passion Gospel, venerate the Cross, and receive the Blessed Sacrament.

The Easter Vigil is the most sacred and dramatic liturgy of the Christian year, marking the passage from darkness to light and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Held after nightfall on Holy Saturday, it begins in silence and darkness outside the church, where a new fire is kindled and the Paschal Candle is lit—symbolising Christ as the Light of the World.

From this single flame, the light is gradually shared among the congregation, illuminating the church as the ancient hymn “Exsultet” is proclaimed. The service then unfolds through a series of readings from Scripture, recounting the story of salvation from creation through to the resurrection.

The Vigil also includes the renewal of baptismal promises, and often the baptism and confirmation of new members of the Church. The celebration then reaches its joyful climax in the first Eucharist of Easter, as the Church rejoices in the risen Lord.

Easter Day High Mass is the principal celebration of the Resurrection, filled with joy, splendour, and thanksgiving. Marking the triumph of life over death, this festive liturgy proclaims the risen Christ and the hope of new life for all.

A quieter, shorter Said Mass followed by a time of refreshment and fellowship.
