The White Horse Team serves the people of the parishes of Westbury and Dilton Marsh whether or not they are regular church goers.
We are here to offer our help and support at this time of loss. It is always emotional and difficult when a loved one dies, even when we are expecting it. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the days ahead.
Where to have the Service?
Whether you want to come into church, or go to the crematorium, one of our team of ministers will always be available to help you prepare and take the service.
How do I plan it?
There is no ‘proper’ way to have the service, we want you to have what is right for you and your loved one. We can advise on prayers, readings and hymns and how the service is conducted. Most families appoint a funeral director to help make the arrangements for them. We work closely with you and the funeral director to ensure all goes smoothly.
What about a burial or interment?
Burials usually take place in the public cemetery at Bratton Road, Westbury. For the burial of ashes, there are various options, including interment in our churchyards and we would be happy to talk with you about this and to take the service.
How much does it cost?
There are standard fees set by the Church of England for funerals/internment/burials and they are reviewed each year in January. If you decide to include vergers (stewards), an organist or you would like the option to have the service live streamed (for example), these will incurr additional costs. The minister will discuss these further with you when you meet.

Refreshments after the funeral?
If you would like to have the service at All Saints Church (Westbury), you may like to know that we have a Parish Hall nearby (situated in the churchyard) in case you are exploring venue options for the wake.
