We are having a special service for Rogation Sunday at the Tin Church, Brokerswood on 25th May at 6.00 pm.

Rogationtide was given this name from the words in the Prayerbook gospel: Whatever you ask the
Father in my name, He will give you (from the Latin – “to ask”).

Traditionally, processions took place around the fields, to bless the crops and to beat the “bounds” of the parish. Rogation takes place in the spring time, between Easter and Pentecost. It reminds us of our responsibility to look after God’s earth; to reflect on our relationship with the natural order and how we are meant to be good stewards or managers of the land and all that is in it. Part our responsibility as Eco Churches, is to be reminded of these concerns and raise our awareness of our concerns for the natural world.
