Christmas Experience proved to be a great success

christmas Church_news

We have had some lovely feedback from those who came to the Christmas Experience last weekend. Santa saw over 60 excited children in his excellent grotto and there were over 100 cribs of all sorts and sizes for everyone to view in the Church whilst sipping their mulled wine and listening to carols. We managed to fit in a few stalls as well. Everyone seems to have enjoyed their visit despite all the rules we had to put in place to be Covid secure. Although fundraising was very much an afterthought in planning this event, in the end it made an amazing £1450+ profit which will go towards reducing the large deficit which we are facing this year as a result of the pandemic We would like to thank the team of helpers who worked so hard during the week and the weekend in very difficult circumstances to ensure this event happened and happened safely We are very appreciative of all those from across the benefice and beyond who lent us their cribs for the display and of all those who made cakes and pickles for sale. We should also thank Paul Corbett, the bell foundary workers and the Suffolk Guild volunteers for their patience and cooperation as we were setting up whilst half the Church was basically their building site
