Our modern, well-maintained, Church Hall is available for appropriate hire at most times with the exception of Wednesday, Friday, Sunday mornings See photos in the Picture Gallery

The Church Centre is a well equipped modern building which is attached to the Listed Church of St Mary and St Peter in the village of Barham, which is in the beautiful Suffolk countryside just 4 miles to the north of Ipswich. (See map and The "Find us" tab on the right.

This is an ideal location for getting away from the office for a meeting, or holding small public conferences, exhibitions, evening classes, day retreats, family get-togethers etc.

The main room has ample capacity to seat 50 people in lecture arrangement. The entrance hall can also be utilised as a reception area or additional exhibition space. A telephone for emergency use is available - phone no 01473 831612 (If convenient, and deemed appropriate, it may be possible for a booking to be extended to the use of the Church itself but this would need detailed discussion in advance of making a booking.)

HIRE RATES Below are the basic rates for a single booking of the hall

Half Day session .............£50
Morning & Afternoon...........£70
Evening Session 6pm onwards...£30
During the heating season -
Heating is charged at £1 per hour during evenings and weekends and £2 per hour Monday – Friday daytime
(Fees are payable at time of booking)


Diocesan Groups, Other Parish Churches, Educational groups, voluntary organisations and Church members can Hire at HALF the booking fee.
Other regular users booking a number of sessions in advance may also be given a discount.
The hire rates include use of kitchen, overhead projector, DVD player. whiteboard etc. Tea and coffee making facilities are available for a donation of say 50p per head per session. (Bring your own milk if you want fresh rather than powdered). Use of the phone or additional electricity will be recharged at cost.

The Church Council reserves the right to refuse bookings for purposes which are deemed unsuitable for a hall attached to a Church. It is a condition of hire that hirer's leave the hall, kitchen and toilets in a clean and tidy condition ready for the next user.
