Carols & Hymns for Christmas and the Epiphany recorded by Mel, St. Paul's Church Organist

Mel, St. Paul's Church Organist, writes:

I’m taking a break from my weekly ramblings on Anglican hymnody and instead this week offer an extended “playlist” of Christmas and Epiphany hymns. Everything offered since the start of this pandemic remains online and now amounts to 217 items, which is a fair proportion of any one of our hymnbooks. As we start 2021, I’ll leave Julian to select items from the archive as appropriate, providing fresh material as the need arises.

For now I wish you all the best possible Christmas and New Year you can have and leave you with this list of items that might give a resource for some home Christmas singing.

A great and mighty wonder -

Angels from the realms of glory -

As with gladness men of old -

Away in a manger -

Christ be our light (longing for light) -

Christians awake -

Ding dong merrily on high -

Hark the herald angels sing -

Hills of the north rejoice -

In the bleak midwinter -

It came upon the midnight clear -

Joy to the world -

O come all ye faithful -

O come O come Emmanuel -

O little town of Bethlehem -

O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness -

Of the Father's love begotten -

Once in royal David's city -

See amid the winter's snow -

Silent night -

Thou whom shepherds worshipped -

Unto us is born a son -

While shepherds watched their flocks -

AMNS 47a Brightest and best are the sons of the morning -

AMNS 48 Earth has many a noble city -

AMNS 484 Long ago, prophets knew -

AMNS 52 The people that in darkness sat -
